A celebration of community, sunshine and shared moments
Christmas Day 2025 was one we won’t forget in a hurry.
From midday onwards, our bar filled with familiar faces. Locals popping in, friends meeting friends, families squeezing in one more festive catch-up before heading off to Christmas dinner. The kind of day that reminds you exactly why Compamigos exists.
With the winter sun shining, the atmosphere spilled out onto our outdoor terrace. Glasses clinking in the fresh air, laughter carrying across the marina. Inside, the buzz continued, stretching through the bar and into the restaurant area as more people arrived to soak up the festive spirit.
There was no rush, no agenda, just people enjoying being together.
We had complimentary mince pies on the bar, because it wouldn’t be Christmas without them, and they disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived. Conversations flowed easily, strangers became friends, and the whole place felt exactly how we hoped it would be. Warm, welcoming and full of life.
One of our marina residents, Wendy, summed it up perfectly:
“Thank you so much for opening on Christmas Day and letting all us boaters have a few hours to drink and be merry. Your staff are fabulous and the atmosphere is lovely. A very Merry Christmas to you all xxxxxxx”
Behind the scenes, it was very much a family effort too. Richard, Charlotte, Ellie and Amy were joined by Richard’s sister and mum, all pitching in together, especially on glass duty, to keep everything running smoothly.
And it truly was a family affair. Between enjoying cuddles with Grandad and sneaking a little Christmas chocolate, Richard’s three year old Florence was even spotted helping out and did a grand job sweeping the floor at the end of the shift.
Days like this are what compartir con amigos truly means to us. Not just sharing food and drinks, but sharing time, space and moments, especially on a day as special as Christmas.
To everyone who joined us, whether for five minutes or a few hours, thank you for being part of it. You made Christmas Day at Compamigos exactly what we hoped it would be.
